The result of the research shows that the teachers have positive consideration in selecting textbook at school.
Interview and analyzing document were used to collect the data. Th e method of the research was descriptive qualitative. Four teachers from MTsN and MAN in Cirebon were recruited as participants in this research. Hence, the aim of this research was to investigate the teachers’ consideration in selecting qualified English textbook based on profile, content, and appropriateness with the curriculum. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memperkaya pengetahuan dalam memilih buku paket bahasa inggris yang berkualitas baik. Hal ini menujukkan bahwa eksistensi buku paket di sekolah masih dibutuhkan dan bergantung pada kemampuan guru dalam memilih buku paket yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Meraka mempertimbangkan kebutuhan siswa, kesesuaian materi dengan agama, budaya lingkungan, dan dengan KI dan KD dalam silabus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa para guru memiliki pertimbangan yang positif dalam memilih buku paket. Sedangkan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan analisis dokumen. Pendekatan yang dipakai adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah empat guru yang berasal dari MTsN dan MAN Kota Cirebon. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi pertimbangan guru dalam memilih buku paket Bahasa Inggris yang berkualitas berdasarkan profil, konten dan kesesuain dengan kurikulum.
